FAQs
95% + of our patients are helped in the clinic without needing to go to a physical GP.
With the nurse there to act as the eyes, ears and hands of the doctor, the vast majority of day-to-day conditions can be treated in your local clinic. The exceptions include: psychiatric conditions, physical trauma (except basic wound care), and babies under 2 (except for vaccinations, which nurses are well prepared to administer).
No booking needed.
Healthforce™ telemedicine doctors are available on demand 7 days a week during the hours that your clinic is open. We have a smart scheduling algorithm so that, when the nurse calls the doctor, it takes only 4 minutes on average for the doctor to answer the call. Easy-peasy.
Yes.
Healthforce™-powered clinics have a flat screen TV on which the doctor appears. You and the nurse can see the doctor, and the doctor can see you too. The doctor can also see all the information that the nurse has captured during your consultation.
Yes.
Any information collected on your prior visit to the clinic is available to both the nurse and doctor. It will also be available at other Healthforce™-powered clinics if you consent to make it available there. Ultimately, it is your information to do with as you wish!
Yes.
Our doctors can script anything up to Schedule 4. People find it highly convenient to collect these at their local clinic and then pick up the medicines from the dispensary at the same time.
We find that the majority of the time, the nurse - who is actually a highly trained primary care clinician - can solve your health problem.
This is a much lower cost alternative to going to a GP. Where the telemedicine doctor is needed, because the nurse has already collected all your vital signs and done the necessary physical examinations, much less of the doctor’s time is required. This lowers the cost of the doctor significantly too.
That depends.
The schemes listed as our partners do pay for you on certain plans. For example, Discovery will pay - even if you are out of MSA! - for all plans except Keycare and Core. When schemes pay, they pay for both the nurse and the doctor. They pay for the nurse even if you don't need the doctor. Please call your insurer to check your benefits.
